This artifact, known as the Amulet of Anubis is fabled to carry with it the very powers of Anubis himself--the most ancient guardian of the underworld. Constantin brings the talisman to Denver, where he hopes to use it to open a portal to the other side. Honestly, what harm has opening a portal to another dimension ever caused?
The Mile High City is rocked when the paranormal eliminators face off against the forces of darkness in a battle for Earth's souls.

Godzilla is Coming Back!!

I was watching a movie on the SyFy channel and a commerical for Godzilla 3D came on. I scared my poor husband half to death screaming I was so excited. The ad didn't say when -- just "coming soon". I immediately got on the net and started searching. To my surprise, I didn't find much but I did find the following. I'm just disappointed that it won't happen any sooner. It looks like it's going to be 2010. I love Godzilla movies!

"As first reported early in the year by Blood Disgusting and confirmed today by Variety Online (and several other Hollywood news sites): Warner Brothers and Legendary Productions are making an all new Godzilla film! Apparently Yoshimitsu Banno, the director of Godzilla vs the Smog Monster will serve as one of the executive producers. The article is here

Macabre fiction. Horror fiction. Dark fiction. Whatever you choose to call it, that is what is contained within this collection of short stories. But other than that, these tales are as varied as can be. Ghost stories... they're in there. Lovecraftian monsters... certainly. Twist endings... got it. Psychological terror... of course. Sunny, happy endings... not so much. Oh, and one other thing these stories have in common: they are intended for a mature audience- one who is not easily offended, I might add.

I can't vouch for it because I haven't listened to it yet. I'm concerned about that last sentence in the description. I'm not sure if it's warning of content or language.

A few weeks ago, I saw the YouTube video of the 3-year old little girl crying over Justin Bieber. I was just shocked. She's only 3! I didn't hear anyone else talk about it, but my daughter did. Apparently, a lot of people were talking about it.

I recently caught the follow-up video where she actually got to meet Justin, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel. I just love a happy ending.

Grandma Helps With Potty Training

Isn't he supposed to be standing up?

According to potty training concepts, not a first. Excerpt:

I am asked this question by many parents - they all want to know whether to start potty training boys to urinate standing up or sitting down.

While there is definitely no right or wrong way to potty train a boy, most potty training experts will recommend that toddler boys should be potty trained sitting down. Even the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends encouraging and teaching toddler boys to urinate sitting down.

The major reason for this recommendation is to keep things simple by teaching them to sit for both urination and bowel movements. Other reasons include the logistics involved in managing the equipment for both types of training and the effort required to clean up while they learn to aim properly.

My personal recommendation is to first teach your son to potty sitting down. Once he is completely potty trained for both and is accident free, then I would recommend training him to pee standing up like his father and brothers!!



This site also has some cool potty training aids that might be helpful. The seat has a little cup in the front to help prevent "pee pee floor" and the step stool curves with the toilet, making learning to stand and go a more likely shot. They probably have your child's favorite character.

For some really funny potty training videos go to YouTube and search for "potty training". You'll soon find out you are not alone in this sometimes frustrating but hilarious adventure with your child.

The little guy in the picture is my grandson and he is actually doing a great job with his potty training. He is only 29 months old.

I found this video and I am dedicating it to my daughter. She has her hands full at the moment. She works full-time and has a 2-year and 5-year old. One is potty training and the other is going through a dramatic "fit pitching" stage that's causing her real concern. Sometimes, she feels like she's at the end of her rope. She just doesn't realize how strong she is or what a good Mom she is.
